Rent The Runway Files S-1

Clothing rental marketplace Rent The Runway publicly filed its S-1, after previously confidentially filing to go public. The company, which lets customers rent clothing for special events or as part of a subscription, revealed in its filing that its revenue fell from $88.5 million in the six month period that ended July 31, 2020 to $80.2 million in the same period in 2021. Its net losses for the same six month period 2020 and 2021 came out to $88 million and $84.7 million, respectively.

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the company, as customers paused memberships, given the stay-at-home orders and lack of social events to rent clothing for. However, the company noted it had 126,841 total subscribers in the six month period ending July 31, 2021, up from 108,752 during the same period last year.
