Maven Clinic raises $110M at unicorn valuation with help from Oprah

Maven Clinic, a digital health platform that works with health plans and employers to offer virtual services for women’s and family health, said Tuesday that it has raised a $110 million Series D funding round.

The round values the New York-based company at more than $1 billion and was co-led by Dragoneer Investment Group and Lux Capital. BOND and existing investors Sequoia Capital, Oak HC/FT, and Icon Ventures also joined the round. Maven said media mogul Oprah Winfrey was an investor in the round, as well, which brings its total funding to more than $200 million. Dragoneer partner Eric Jones is also joining Maven’s board as part of the latest fundraising.

Nuvemshop raises $500M for LatAm e-commerce platform

Brazil-based e-commerce platform Nuvemshop said Tuesday that it raised $500 million in a Series E round of funding. Insight Partners and Tiger Global Management led the round, which brings the company’s valuation to $3.1 billion. Nuvemshop, which helps business owners grow their online businesses, last raised money with a $90 million Series D in March. The company says it serves more than 90,000 merchants in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

Crypto broker Bitpanda banks $263M at $4.1B valuation

Vienna-based cryptocurrency trading platform Bitpanda raised $263 million in a Series C funding round that set a valuation of $4.1 billion.

Launched in 2014, Bitpanda says it currently has around 3 million customers, along with a staff of more than 500. Valar Ventures led the financing, joined by new and existing investors.

To date, Bitpanda has raised around $546 million in known funding, per Crunchbase data.

Health tech

• Carrot Fertility gets $75M Series C led by Tiger Global: San Francisco-based Carrot Fertility, a startup that helps employers provide fertility services as part of their employee benefits packages, said this week that it’s raised a $75 million Series C fundraising round led by Tiger Global Management. OrbiMed also participated in the round along with existing backers including F-Prime, CRV, U.S. Venture Partners and Silicon Valley Bank.

Travel tech

• Hopper picks up $175M for travel recommendations: Montreal-based travel recommendation provider Hopper announced that it has completed a $175 million Series G financing led by GPI Capital. The company said it is heading toward 330 percent revenue growth compared to last year as travel spending picks up.

Enterprise tech

• Apollo lands $130M for GraphQL tech: San Francisco-based Apollo, a developer of GraphQL technology used in connecting apps to the cloud,  raised $130 million in a Series D round led by Insight Ventures, with participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz and Matrix Partners. The financing sets a valuation for the company of over $1.5 billion.

• MOLOCO hits $1.5B valuation: Redwood City, California-based MOLOCO raised a $150 million Series C led by Tiger Global Management. The round now values the company at $1.5 billion. The company, which helps mobile apps to run their own advertising business through machine learning, has surpassed an annual net revenue run-rate of more than $100 million, it said in a release. Founded in 2013, MOLOCO has raised a total of $200 million to date.

•  Sightline raised $244M at $1B+ valuation: Nevada-based payments company Sightline raised $244 million in a round led by Cannae Holdings valuing the company above $1 billion. Sightline is a digital payments provider for online and in-person gaming and casinos. Existing investors Genting Group, Point Break Capital, and founding investor Walter Kortschak invested in this round. Cannae also led a $100 million round in the company in April 2021.
