Please Welcome Mary Ann Azevedo To The News Team

The Crunchbase News team is excited to announce that Mary Ann Azevedo, an Austin-based venture reporter, is joining our crew full-time. For regular readers, Mary Ann is well-known, publishing for us weekly since mid-2017.

Mary Ann is a gifted writer and an experienced journalist who has written for the Houston Business Journal, Crains, and the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

Her reporting on burgeoning startup ecosystems (more, still more), diversity in the startup world (more here), and even the tech industry’s reaction to a natural disaster has enlivened our work and given it more depth. She has also taken a look at the venture market for esports, drones, subscription companies, and other niches.

Moving ahead, Mary Ann will continue her reporting on Texas and the middle of America’s startup world, among other topics. We’ve got a lot planned.
