India’s Meesho raises $570M for e-commerce

Indian social commerce unicorn Meesho picked up $570 million in a funding round led by Fidelity Management & Research Co. and B Capital Group. The Series F round follows a $300 million round in April.

The latest financing reportedly set a valuation of around $4.9 billion for the Bangalore-based company, which connects suppliers and resellers with potential customers on social media platforms.

ContractPodAi picks up $115M

London-based ContractPodAi, a provider of contract management software for legal professionals, announced it raised $115 million in a Series C funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.

The financing pushed up ContractPodAi’s valuation 5x from its previous Series B round in 2019. The round brings total funding to date for the 9-year-old company to around $170 million, per Crunchbase data.

AI search engine AlphaSense closes $180M Series C

New York-based AlphaSense has closed a $180 million Series C financing round led by Viking Global Investors and Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The round also included Morgan Stanley, Citi, Bank of America, Barclays, Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, Cowen and AllianceBernstein, as well as existing investors.

AlphaSense’s market intelligence search engine uses AI to get insights from an assortment of business-related content such as research, conference call transcripts and trade journals. The company has nearly 2,000 enterprise clients—including financial institutions—that use the platform to inform their business decisions.

Founded in 2011, the company has raised nearly $300 million to date, according to Crunchbase data.

Empathy raises $30M: Empathy, an online platform and app offering support to families dealing with the loss of a loved one, raised $30 million in a Series A financing led by Entrée Capital. Launched earlier this year, Empathy has now raised $43 million in total funding.
